Our Game Was Stolen - and the Fight Continues

Hey everyone, I wanted to share an important update about the ongoing situation with Diapers, Please!

After our initial post, we discovered not one, but at least four stolen copies of our game on the App Store, published under different developer accounts. One of these copies reached #1 in Paid Games across several countries, earning the thief about 60.000$ from our work. Afer a few letters in the DMCA thread with Apple that person promised to remove the game from App Store (at the moment he did it) and asked us to close our ban request. The truth us, he just want to run out with money he earned, so we didn't agree with that and requested Apple to refund all buyers of stolen game and ban thiefs Apple account.

The fight is far from over - new copies keep appearing, and we strongly suspect they are linked to the same individual.  We’re incredibly grateful for all the support from the game dev community, from fellow Brackeys Jam participants, and even from the media, including a recent article on Ars Technica covering this situation. And thanks to all Redditors for supporting my post both with upvotes and useful comments.

We are in the process of applying to a Steam page with our game, I hope it soon will come live, so we can at least be sure that our work will be protected on the PC platform.

Thank you for standing with us!

this is just sad how some people put no work into making a game so they steal someone elses also how did they get the code and everything isn't that private to you guys?

If you can download game build (and you can even for web games) you can decompile it with one tool (in our case its GDRE Tools) and than you have all the code, all game assets, everything.

I didn't know that it's soo easy before our game was stolen, when I started to dig into that theme, I tried to rebuild our game from web page, and I was able to do it in 7 minutes. So if thief do this regulary, he can rebuild our game even faster.

ok
